About Chinese terms more HERE and at TCM in a nutshell
A minimum period of use of 3 months is recommended.
Tablets should be taken either 15 minutes before a meal or 30 minutes after a meal - this does not mean that you have to be full. If you are also taking chemical medications, NEVER take them with herbal products at the same time! The rule is that herbal products are always taken before a meal (about 1/2 hour) and chemical medications after a meal (preferably 1 hour apart from herbs). Here are several ways to optimally use herbal products:
1. First, crush the tablets into powder (e.g. in a mortar), pour 2 dcl of hot water into a glass, stir in hot water and drink (similar to bitter coffee, but in this case with an “herbal logram”). This method is also the most effective!
2. Simply swallow the tablets whole and drink them with clean water.
3. In case of chronic problems or long-term use of herbal tablets, this method can also be used: all the tablets that are recommended to be taken during the day (e.g. 3x2 tablets per day from 2 different products = 12 tablets in total), dissolve all of them at once and together in the morning Drink of Chinese Sages - code 900 and mix carefully so that we drink it all and there is no “sludge” left at the bottom. In addition, this morning breakfast will become tastier and more delicious.
4. This method has also proven effective for some children: crush the tablets into powder and add them to tea, which we sweeten with e.g. maple or date syrup, or add them to soup or other food, so that the usually bitter tablets are more edible for them.
5. It is also ideal to dissolve all herbal tablets in the daily dose (usually 12 or more tablets) in about 0.5 l of hot water and drink this lukewarm drink (preferably from a thermos) throughout the day like coffee, in this case regardless of meals. Before drinking the drink, it is always necessary to shake the thermos.

Mgr. Margit Slimáková Ph.D. Foods that are not included in the recommended or not recommended categories can be consumed in reasonable quantities. Of course, it is also necessary to follow the general principles of healthy nutrition during any diet therapy. This practically means a varied diet with a predominance of vegetables and fruits of all possible colors and flavors, plenty of cereals in their most natural form, legumes, forage crops, nuts and seeds. Supplement this daily basis with high-quality, preferably vegetable protein, as well as fermented dairy products and eggs (both preferably in organic quality), fish, seafood, algae and, if necessary, high-quality organic meat. In addition to the variety of the diet, its naturalness is also of equal importance. Prepare everything as fresh as possible without artificial flavorings and using gentle cooking methods (i.e. without frying, grilling and baking).
Milk and dairy products, which were originally recommended in traditional Chinese medicine for certain health problems, were very different from today's pasteurized, canned and often oversweetened dairy products, most of which do not belong in a healthy diet. For this reason, it is advisable to focus only on organic milk and dairy products, if you have the option of a safe source, then choose unpasteurized and unhomogenized milk (from containers or directly from the farmer) and unpasteurized cheeses or replace milk in recipes with grain milks, soy cheeses tofu and tempeh and soy cream. The best prevention of osteoporosis is regular physical activity, which puts a strain on our joints and bones, and a healthy diet, limiting sweets and fatty foods. In addition to the intake of organic dairy products, seeds (any), nuts, legumes and green leafy vegetables will also provide calcium in the diet.
According to Chinese medicine, concentrated sugar has an extremely yin, expanding and relaxing effect, but it brings so-called SHI dampness into the body and weakens the spleen energy PI QI XU. Therefore, people with a weakened spleen and excessive SHI dampness should significantly limit sugar. This harmful SHI dampness is ideally removed from the body every day and the insufficient spleen energy PI QI XU is strengthened, for example, by regular breakfast with Chinese Sages' Drinks (code 900). From the perspective of Western medicine, excess sugar in the diet burdens the pancreas, damages tooth enamel, and reduces the reserves of necessary minerals (including calcium, which contributes to weight gain). However, artificial sweeteners are certainly not the solution, as they are an even greater energy extreme and burden the body much more with their "synthetic" composition, which is completely unnatural for our body (and our digestion and pancreas). Moreover, sweeteners do not help us at all to learn to perceive the naturally sweet taste of food, but on the contrary, they will cause an addiction to sweet tastes. A possible way is to gradually switch to more suitable forms of natural sweeteners, of which maple or date syrup is the most optimal for our body. Brown (unrefined) sugar differs from white sugar only in its color and refinement (i.e. it contains more trace elements and minerals than white sugar), but in its composition it is still sucrose (a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose). Any excess of concentrated sugars (including honey and sugar in fruit juices) can harm the body. More in the article Sugar not only from the perspective of TCM. The worst thing today is the so-called hidden sugar, contained in many foods (ketchup, fast food...), but especially in sweetened drinks, including fruit juices! This gradually sets people up with a higher tolerance and habit for the sweet taste as such, which in turn results in a whole range of so-called civilization diseases - starting with diabetes and obesity and ending with cardiovascular diseases. That is why it is so important to gradually reduce the total amount of sweeteners we use. The TCM view of people who are currently directly addicted to sweets is also interesting (more here.) Practical advice: if someone is really such an "addict" to sweets, we can recommend Lifefood products made of "living chocolate" from unroasted cocoa beans (similar to "living" unpasteurized milk), sweetened with natural syrups, composed only of certified organic raw materials, without roasting, without gluten, without lactose and made by hand - it is the best quality that you can currently indulge in and, surprisingly, it is also healthy! How to deal with the situation with the recommendation to consume enough healthy cereals when you have a diagnosed gluten allergy (see Celiac disease according to TCM)? Even on a gluten-free diet, it is still possible to eat cereals regularly, but great care must be taken when choosing them. In practice, wheat, rye, barley and oats, i.e. the most common types of cereals in our country, should be excluded. It is quite possible that the one-sided and excessive consumption of these types in our conditions also contributes to the development of allergies. Gluten-free cereals include emmer (White Pearl of the East - code 910), millet, buckwheat, rice, corn, amaranth, quinoa and sorghum. These can be consumed in all forms and in unlimited quantities on a gluten-free diet. For all clients with a gluten allergy, I always recommend moderation in the consumption of cow's milk, which is the most common food allergen in general and in a situation where the intestinal wall is damaged (due to a gluten allergy) it can easily worsen the situation.
